I am black and white and yet neither. I am too white to be black and too black to be white. I am a bridge where two worlds are joined together, a crossroads where two diverse races met. My restless, pioneering spirit, my culture, language and religion I inherited from my Middle-eastern and European forebears. My African construct gave me my rhythm, my music and the dignity to endure stoically in the most difficult situations, knowing that someday I will overcome. Being a mulatto gave me my skin tone, golden brown like the sun shining in the midday. The Asian is responsible for the slight slant of my eyes. Being a mixture of both worlds means we get the best from both worlds, from the anatomical DNA immunity traits, to the physical, artistic and mental skills. My people are like a basket filled with the bright colors of summer cut flowers, like a multi-hued rainbow, as lovely as the earth after the spring rains. Mixed is beautiful.-anonymous
